1/4" Plywood vs Spuds
04/30/2006
Our First Test With The TA-3100
The new gun was tested this weekend with good results and few injuries (except of course the 1/4" plywood).
We decided to stop and marvel at our new found destructive powers after the first four shots.

How Many Taters Does It Take To Cut A Piece Of Plywood?
Well, 14 by my count. I wasn't sure we'd penetrate 1/4" plywood at all with mere spuds but we have the evidence.
With the assistance of a laser sight and rifled barrel we were able to direct our fire with good accuracy (and fairly impressive force).

Ever See A Spud Going 300 Mile Per Hour?
The video is not the greatest quality but it does show a typical shot.(Mild Warning: 2.23 MB download)
If you look closely at the slow-mo replay you can see the splintered plywood fall out from behind the target. We put a box behind it to deflect some of the mashed potatoes and splinters.
(If Microsoft is too stupid to play the Windows Media Video file then right click and "Save Target As"...)
